CAT RUN
Our
cat run is an ongoing project. It runs along the side of our house and is
15 x 8 metres.
It is built with
pine post and rails,
bird netting, wire, shade cloth, shade sails.
There
is a cubby house, with benches, baskets, and donut beds; tree branches for scratching
poles, a bridge, ladders, hammocks and plants.
We made a garden
around our water tanks (the two concrete circles in the pic's). The cats have
access to the house through cat doors.
We
had an extra part added on for Eric, but now the girls can use this part also.
We
have built a new boys run. We brought a garden shed that
was
modified so that it had a central wall and the doors were on the outside of the
front instead of in the middle of the front.
We
built this on post's, added a verandah, and an outside area with gardens.
The boys have one side each. We have put cat doors in the doors, so that the doors can be closed in inclement weather, the units stay dry, and the boys can still go in an out.
There
is a high verandah with a bed under it where they can lay and catch the cool
breeze. The boys have gardens, and
hammocks. We have planted shrubs and trees for shade, and they have a
great view.
