Our Cattery
When we decided to design and build our
cattery, we thought of all the things
we would like for our own cats, and
incorporated these in the design. A security door into the cattery, a sliding
security door into the unit area, and padlocked runs ensure safety.
We are licensed with our Shire Council, and started our business in August 2003.
We are members of the
Association of Pet Boarding and Grooming Queensland.
Situated on two acres our
modern building of colour- bond and steel, is insulated, and has
two whirlybirds to
take out the hot air in summer. Four skylight panels
in the roof allow lots of
light into the cattery. Every
second unit has a window.
A roller door at one end opens onto two outside runs,
and allows sunshine and airflow on lovely warm days. For very hot days, we are
equipped with air-conditioning.

There are five outside runs. These runs
are lovely areas with plants, cat grass,
tree trunks for scratching posts and
hammocks.
Twelve of our units
have personal access to the runs through cat doors. The
floor is a concrete
slab, covered with vinyl.
Each roomy (2m high x 1.25m deep x .75m wide) walk-in unit has four levels, solid walls and a wire door. These walls were designed with the health and safety of your cat in mind as there is no contact between units, which lessens the chance of injury, intimidation etc.
Our
family units
have the lower part of the wall between
two units removed. This gives a family of cats heaps of room, and lots of floor
space. They have enough room to play or they can easily find their own space.
Family units have run access.

Rain water is collected from the roof into a tank
for watering the runs and gardens.
Environmentally friendly cat litter is
composted for the garden. We also have a
worm farm for other litter waste.
